Protective insect netting is made from a small mesh of UV- and weather-resistant polyethylene. With chemical insecticides proving less and less effective, the ecological method of covering with protective netting has become a successful alternative. Particularly light and easy to handle, the nets provide protection against insects, bad weather and wind.
Nets with a high density (0.2 x 0.8 mm mesh) are highly effective even against the white fly. For suzuki flies, 0.8 x 0.8 mm mesh is recommended.
The mesh structure does not impede water permeability or interfere with spray treatment. Wind protection reduces the need for water, allowing optimum growth.
